Former Daily editor-in-chief Jordan Miller tied for 17th in the nation this week in the Hearst Awards’ multimedia digital news/enterprise reporting category for her project and data visualization exploring how COVID cases at OU and in Cleveland County compared to Big 12 peer institutions and their home counties.
The contest honors the top 20 college digital news enterprise pieces in the nation.
This marks The Daily’s second placement of the 2021-22 Hearst cycle, which staggers its category deadlines throughout the academic year.
Miller is now a breaking news reporter at the Salt Lake Tribune.
Last year, staffers from The Daily placed six times in Hearst categories. Since 2014-15, The Daily now has placed 25 times in the contest, which honors the best in collegiate journalism.
